Amidst the dozens of luxury hi-rises in Sunny Isles Beach north of Miami, Jade Signature soars 57 stories in the air. Uniquely, parking extends 3 levels below ground, a first of its kind. This challenging design feature, made more complex by the immediate proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and subsurface soils including the porous Miami limestone formation, was met by the specialty geotechnical contractor, Malcolm Drilling, with the support of H2R Corp. H2R provided support of excavation services to Malcolm from engineering and inspection to field tests and verification core borings.

H2R Corp, part of Gannett Fleming at the time, provided general geotechnical field services for a soil plug being constructed by Malcolm Drilling. This included the support of mix designs, drilling services and wireline coring of the low strength material, rebar inspections, soil mix wet grab sampling, laboratory testing, and other geotechnical analysis in support of the excavation including slope stability and settlement analyses, as well as slope inclinometer measurements.
