PROJECT ACCOUNTING & FINANCE SPECIALIST

H2R Corp is a growing engineering and consulting firm seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Project Accounting & Finance Specialist to support financial operations across multiple offices, projects, and departments. Working directly with the VP of Finance, this position plays an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting project managers, preparing executive reporting, and helping drive efficient accounting processes throughout the organization.
This role blends project accounting, financial administration, operational reporting, and process improvement responsibilities within a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership and project teams to support project financial performance, accounting accuracy, and company-wide reporting functions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include supporting project managers with accounting and financial administration activities while helping maintain accurate financial reporting and efficient project operations across the organization. Key responsibilities include:
• Processing subconsultant invoices, vendor invoices, expense reports, and accounts payable transactions
• Preparing client invoices, accounts receivable billings, and supporting project financial administration
• Coordinating project cost tracking, including labor, equipment, and internal expense allocations
• Maintaining fixed asset schedules, equipment cost allocations, and depreciation tracking
• Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes, account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger support
• Supporting audits, compliance documentation, and auditor requests
• Preparing financial, operational, and management reports for executive leadership and the Board of Directors
• Assisting with budgeting activities, ad hoc reporting, and continuous improvement of accounting workflows, reporting processes, and internal controls
This role may also occasionally support business development and corporate initiatives requiring financial coordination, including vendor registrations, supplier applications, certified payroll reporting, and documentation associated with government contracts and rate schedules.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• 2–5+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, project accounting, or related financial experience
• Experience within project-based accounting environments strongly preferred
• Experience with Deltek Ajera highly preferred
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, accounting software, and reporting systems
• Experience supporting engineering, consulting, construction, or professional services firms preferred
• Strong organizational skills, communication abilities, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines

Professional Geologist (PG) or Geologist-in-Training (GIT)

Description: We are seeking a motivated Geologist-in-Training (GIT) or licensed Professional Geologist (PG) to support a diverse portfolio of geotechnical and geological projects across civil, environmental, and infrastructure markets. This role blends fieldwork and office responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on subsurface investigations, including SPT and CPT testing, geologic logging, and in-situ data collection. The successful candidate will contribute to projects involving dams and levees, transportation systems, and mining, while assisting with data interpretation, technical reporting, and construction oversight. Ideal candidates range from early-career professionals eager to gain hands-on field experience to seasoned geologists ready to take on greater project leadership. The position requires strong technical writing and communication skills, the ability to work independently in remote conditions, and a willingness to travel, while ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications.
Field Testing Technician

Description: The Field Testing Technician performs field and laboratory tests on construction materials such as soil, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt, following ASTM, AASHTO, and FDOT standards. The technician reviews project plans and specifications to determine material requirements and testing protocols. Primary duties include collecting field samples; performing inplace density tests using nuclear and sand cone methods; conducting Proctor compaction testing; preparing and curing concrete test cylinders; executing moisture content and sieve analysis tests; and documenting test results. The technician operates specialized equipment such as nuclear gauges, concrete air meters, slump cones, and compression testing machines. They are responsible for drafting daily field reports, coordinating with the laboratory team for off-site testing, and reporting non-compliance findings to project managers. The work supports quality control and quality assurance efforts on public infrastructure projects, including roadways, canals, levees, embankments, and utility installations. Field Testing Technicians work under the supervision of the Construction Service Department Manager and may travel within Florida to various project sites as needed.
Requirements: 1 yr experience, Valid drivers license required & High School Diploma or Equivalent
Project Engineer
ALL LOCATIONS
Description: Candidate will be working on a variety of projects, requiring multiple skill sets. Candidates with experience in Quality Assurance services for deep foundations are a plus including dynamic testing of driven pilings. Candidate may also perform integrity testing of drilled shaft foundations. Willing to occasionally travel, and be able to work independently to manage field work and coordinate with contractors and inspectors. Candidate will also work on engineering projects, assisting in proposal preparation, support field investigations, soil laboratory testing, and geotechnical instrumentation. The position will also require the design and analysis of shallow and deep foundation for bridges and other structures, retaining walls, stability and seepage analyses of levees and roadway embankments, settlement estimates, and ground improvement assessments for complex sites.
Requirements: 1-5 yrs experience, EIT and Master’s in Civil Engineering preferred.
Construction Services
ALL LOCATIONS
Description: Candidate will be working on a variety of projects, performing both field and occasionally laboratory tests. Candidate must have attention to detail, follow safety protocols, and be able to communicate effectively with clients. A willingness to learn, occasionally travel, and be responsible for sensitive testing equipment as well as a company vehicle are also important. A company vehicle will be provided as a benefit. H2R is a growing firm and the candidate’s ability to take ownership of projects, including schedule flexibility and be an effective client manager are prerequisites to increased responsibility and promotion.
Requirements: 1-3 yrs experience and certifications in concrete and earthwork. Basic mathematics, knowledge of Word and Excel, be able to lift 50 lbs. Valid drivers license required.
Drilling
ALL LOCATIONS
H2R Corp, an expert in engineering and infrastructure solutions, has an immediate opening for an experienced driller to perform subsurface exploration and soil sampling duties using auger drilling, mud rotary drilling, and diamond bit coring, with some experience in the installation of instrumentation and wells. MSHA, HAZWOPER, and well installation certifications preferred. Coring of low-strength material, CPT, and experience with in-situ permeability testing a plus, and are factors for both increased consideration and compensation. The candidate may choose to relocate to either the St. Petersburg or Ft Lauderdale offices, and should be prepared to travel around the state, and occasionally out of state or Country. Candidates will be given additional consideration if working out of our Ft. Myers office.
Requirements: A valid CDL B preferred or must be obtained within 6 months.
