C-18W Restoration Project

The C-18W Restoration Project in Palm Beach County is part of broader Everglades restoration efforts aimed at improving natural water flow, enhancing wetlands, and supporting regional water supply and ecological systems. The project includes canal modifications, construction of berms and water control structures, and development of features to direct water into the West Feeder Canal Subbasin and Big Cypress National Preserve.

H2R provided geotechnical subsurface exploration and laboratory testing services in support of the project under contract to WIRX Engineering. Services included exploratory borings with standard penetration testing (SPT), installation of groundwater monitoring wells and piezometers, in situ permeability testing, and borehole grouting. Laboratory testing included classification, strength, permeability, corrosion, and soil-cement mix design testing to support design and construction of embankments and water control structures. Engineering support services are ongoing as the project advances.
