FPL Dania Beach Energy Center Modernization

The FPL Dania Beach Energy Center Modernization project involved the redevelopment of an existing power generation facility in Fort Lauderdale, replacing aging infrastructure with advanced natural gas turbines to improve efficiency and meet updated environmental standards.

H2R provided geotechnical and construction support services in coordination with Hayward Baker (Keller North America) for foundation systems including rigid inclusions and wet mass soil mixing. Services supported development of alternative foundation solutions that delivered significant cost savings while maintaining performance requirements. H2R later returned to support ongoing construction activities, providing laboratory testing, bench-scale evaluations, unconfined compressive strength testing, and verification coring for low-strength materials, as well as field quality control inspections. These efforts contributed to successful implementation of ground improvement and foundation systems for critical energy infrastructure.
