SE 5th Avenue Bridge Improvements

The SE 5th Avenue Bridge Improvements project in Broward County, Florida involves replacement and rehabilitation of an existing bridge originally constructed in 1959. Improvements include replacement of structural components, upgrades to substructure elements such as pilings and jackets, and raising the bridge to meet current vertical clearance requirements at the US 1 / Federal Highway crossing.

H2R provided subsurface exploration, laboratory soil testing, and geotechnical engineering services in support of design and construction. Services included evaluation of subsurface conditions and development of geotechnical recommendations to support bridge replacement and structural improvements.
